Ski Vacation Tour In Azerbaijan

Kusar. One of the most beautiful and the most interesting places not only in Azerbaijan but also in all Caucasus is in the northeast part of the country, at the top of Shahdag Mountain. Nature is exclusive and various: woods and the severe mountains covered with glaciers of the Caucasus, the deepest canyons, the rare ravines, amazing high-mountainous lakes and falls, multiple mountains, and unapproachable passes. This territory is the interlink between Europe and the Middle East.

Kusar is the original gate of the republic. From ancient times this territory was situated on the main trade routes. Rich and various nature, the crystal-pure air, favorable climate (in winter the temperature falls to minus 20 - 22 degrees and in summer the temperature does not exceed plus 20 degrees in the evening), original culture - all it allows building and development of modern tourist complex corresponding to the world standards.

Since 2006 work of building of Winter & Summer tourist complex "Shahdag" has been carried out in Kusar. For coordination of the works, by the regulation of the Cabinet Council of the Azerbaijan Republic №116 dated May, 19th, 2008 under the Ministry of the Culture and Tourism of the Azerbaijan Republic the Direction of Winter & Summer tourist complex "Shahdag" was set up.

Due to the completion of the number of main works on the first phase of construction of the "Shahdag" Tourist Complex, the opening of a number of its objects took place on December 20 of the current year. “Zirve” Hotel and apart “Qaya” Hotel were open for accommodation.

There are 40 hotel rooms, 3 rooms for the staff, restaurants, bar, cafe, pub, billiard room, shops, conference hall, rental of ski stock, ski school, medical station, parking for cars and other objects in “Zirve” Hotel. In the “Qaya” Hotel there are 26 rooms for accommodation, calculated 62 tourists, a fitness club, a restaurant, a bar, and a cafe.

There are 4 overhead ropeways for lifting on ski slopes, and especially for small skiers, there is a carpet path they can use. Ropeways in the Complex are of different types: with chairlifts, rope tow, and in the sequel there will be also gondola ropeways. Alpine skiing tracks are estimated on various levels of complexity – for children and beginners, and also for those who already have good skills. All ski tracks are served by generators of artificial snow.

This equipment guarantees high-quality ski tracks and also prolongs the season for skiing. In the first part of 2013, we will do our best to open one more 4-star hotel in Shahdag to receive new guests. There will be 173 hotel rooms of different categories, including residential apartments and 2 VIP suites, 3 Conference halls for the organization of various events, 6 restaurants, a SPA center, a swimming pool, a kindergarten, rental of ski stock, ski school, underground parking, and other objects.
